Deputy Prime
Minister in charge of European Affairs, Bujar Osmani, together with a
delegation from the Secretariat for European Affairs, held a working meeting
with the representatives of the State Audit Office led by the Deputy Auditor General,
Naser Ademi.
"The State
Audit Office is an institution that not only performs excellently and zealously
its work, but its results are often the foundation on which the needs for
reforms are identified in other institutions, for which confidence in their
work has been expressed by international friends such as the European
Commission, which quotes their results in the reports of the country ",
emphasized Osmani, pointing to the importance of the institution in the overall
process of fight against organised crime and corruption.
"Auditor
Ademi, as well as the other members of the leadership of the State Audit
Office, assured me that they are continuing their activities with full
capacities, making foundation for the other institutions in creating of the
so-called "track record ", i.e. successful examples that will
demonstrate the progress in the fight against organised crime and
corruption," Osmani said, pointing out that the success in this area means
greater saving of budget funds, protection of the principle of rule of law and
creation of fair competitive business environment, but also significant for the
European integration of the country.
"Through the
progress in the fight against organised crime and corruption, we create a
foundation for a positive report by the European Commission in May, which I
expect will reflect the real progress of the country, which will, in turn, be a
basis for the member states to confirm the decision from last year, for start
of negotiations with the Republic of North Macedonia this year," added
Osmani.
The meeting was
held within the institutional visits of the Deputy Prime Minister Osmani to the
institutions responsible for implementation of the reforms that were provided
in Plan 3-6-9 and Plan 18, as well as the implementation of other obligations
related to the European integration of the country, within which ha has already
visited the State Commission for prevention of corruption, State Election
Commission, as well as the Agency for audio and audiovisual media services.
