Today, Deputy Prime Minister Ademi participated on the second regional conference on topic "EC Reports to the countries- Western Balkans Accession Reforms" in Podgorica, which is a continuation of the initiative which started in Macedonia in 2015.
The aim of the conference is to exchange experiences and proposals among representatives from countries of the Region and the European Commission on key elements of the enlargement package.
"The enlargement remains a priority for the Government while reports of the European Commission are the main documents on which are based all reforms which should be implemented," said Ademi. Also, the conference participants agreed that it is important to confirm the European perspective for the region because it is a major incentive for the implementation of the necessary reforms.
In terms of the new methodology which the European Commission applies to assess the readiness of countries in the accession process, Deputy Prime Minister Ademi noted that this approach enables better insight to both sides,to the candidate countries and to the EC, into the extent of readiness of each individual country as well as the challenges.
The Berlin process and agenda for connecting as a mechanism for infrastructural connection of the region were discussed at the conference.
Within his stay in stay in Podgorica Ademi had a bilateral meeting with the Minister for European Affairs, Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic, where they concluded the excellent relations between the two countries and the strong interest to continue and deepen the cooperation in the field of the European integration. In this context, the positive experience of cooperation within the framework of the joint committee Macedonia- Montenegro was specifically mentioned.
Ademi also had a meeting with the Ambassador Michele Giacomelli, Special Representative of Italy to Berlin process. During the meeting preparations for the upcoming summit in Italy was discussed and the importance of this process to deepen the regional cooperation was emphasised.
