Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, Bujar Osmani, had a meeting with a Delegation of the Standing Committee on European Affairs of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Netherlands, led by the President of the Commission and the Head of the Delegation Hayke Veldman.
"The Republic of North Macedonia has shown exceptional maturity and preparedness to start accession negotiations with the Union, not only with the exceptional successes in resolving the bigger open issues with its neighbours, but also with the intensity and quality of the implemented reforms," Osmani stated. The Prespa Treaty, its creation, verification, and now, its implementation, is a small diplomatic wonder that is increasingly becoming an example of settling bilateral issues.
"There is a serious progress in the implementation of reforms in all key areas defined by the European Council last year, progress for which is noted an appropriate track- record, which is in a constant upgrade," Osmani stressed, pointing out the successful presidential elections which unequivocally show the political and democratic maturity of the state, and its preparedness to start negotiations with the European Union this year.
At the meeting, the topics related to the bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Netherlands and the Republic of North Macedonia, which has been implemented over the past two decades, amounting to over 150 million euros, will also be opened and will continue to be implemented in the forthcoming period, mainly for projects related to the European integration of the country.
Osmani expressed sincere gratitude to the Dutch delegation for the overall support that the country receives from the Kingdom of Netherlands, expressing the hope that it will continue in the upcoming period, especially in support of the European integration of the country.
