Deputy Prime Minister in
charge of European Affairs, Bujar Osmani, today had a meeting with the members of the State Commission for
Prevention of Corruption, within the institutional visits related to the
implementation of the reforms from Plan 18.
"The State Commission
for Prevention of Corruption is one of the brightest examples of successful
implementation of the reforms of Plan 18, having in mind, above all, the
inclusive procedure for adopting the new law on the work of the SCPC, through
broad interventions by the expert public and the opposition, then extremely
transparent selection of the new members, as well as the great expectations
that the public has from their work," Osmani stated, pointing out the
significance of the Commission not only as an important element in preventing
crime and but also the conditions under which the European Commission, and
therefore the member states of the Union, will appreciate the progress of the
country in terms of approximation to European rules and standards.
During the meeting, Deputy
Prime Minister Osmani conveyed to the members of the Commission the willingness
of the Government to intervene within its competences in order to overcome the
challenges facing the Commission from technical, spatial and organisational
aspects, as well as full support and confidence in their work.
In the continuation, Osmani
reminded on the regular meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council
between the European Union and the Republic of North Macedonia, which will be
held on March 19 in Brussels, and where the first measurement section for the
successful implementation of the plans for the reform of the Plan 18 will be made.
In this direction, Osmani once again asked from the administration, from all
responsible institutions, the line ministries and the Parliament for a special
focus in the efforts to complete the reforms, in order to present as many
portfolios as possible of the achieved results and with as much more and better
quality reforms as possible.
