Deputy
Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia in charge of European affairs,
Bujar Osmani, had a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic
of Kosovo in the country, Gjergj Dedaj.
Deputy
Prime Minister Osmani firstly congratulated the Ambassador for his appointment,
and expressed hope that the extremely successful cooperation so far between the
two countries will continue during his term.
"We
have numerous joint projects that are being implemented, such as the Belanovce-
Stancic border crossing, but also numerous other projects from the cross-border
cooperation programme that are under way or are waiting for implementation, for
whose success I believe we will jointly dedicate ourselves," stated
Osmani. At the meeting they opened the topics on the two countries'
progress in the European integration, as well as the overall progress of the
region in terms of European perspectives.
"The
Parliament gave the first green light for the constitutional changes in
accordance with the Prespa agreement, which not only opened the way for
implementation of the obligations of the Treaty, but also created conditions to
accelerate the reform process of the country," Osmani stressed, thus
pointing to the success of the Prespa Treaty, but also earlier, the Treaty on
Good Neighbourly relations with Bulgaria, as an incentive for the other
countries in the region, to invest more efforts and more courage in overcoming
the mutual disputes as a common interest of the whole region.
In
addition, the two interlocutors agreed that they will continue to work in the
direction of enhancing the relations between the two countries, supporting each
other in the Euro-Atlantic integration.
