State Secretary for European Affairs, Ms. Ana Blazheska today had a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Macedonia, Ms. Louisa Vinton.
At the meeting they discussed the situation in the areas affected by the floods that occurred on August 6 this year, as well as the status of preparation of the Post Disaster Needs Assessment- PDNA.
PDNA is currently in preparation process and it is provided to be completed by October 20, 2016. Earlier, on October 13, 2016, which is at the same time International Day for disaster risk reduction in the premises of SEA it was agreed to hold a public presentation of the PDNA results.
Blazheska and Vinton and expressed gratitude for the commitment and good cooperation in regard to the preparation of this document and expressed satisfaction with the work done so far.
PDNA is a methodology which was agreed in 2008 between the World Bank, the European Union and the United Nations in order to ensure better cooperation and better coordination in post-crisis and post-disaster situations, in order to make the recovery and reconstruction in a single process in order to avoid overlapping of efforts undertaken by the partners.
