During his visit in Paris, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs , Arbër Ademi had a meeting with the State Secretary in the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Harlem Desir.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister referred to the political situation in the country and the obligations arising from the Political agreement, emphasizing the evaluation of the political leaders that the conditions to organise parliamentary elections as a positive step forward.
"In the coming period it is necessary to make efforts in order to organise democratic, credible and inclusive elections whose results will be widely accepted," Ademi said, adding that for Macedonia it is crucial to maintain the European perspective.
In terms of Urgent Reform Priorities, Ademi stressed the need to continue the implementation of the measures and activities, given that it comes to areas that are essential for reforms related to the EU integration process of the country.
"Considering the important historical role of France in the decision making processes of the EU for us it is extremely important to have your open support for the Euro-Atlantic integration processes which was also confirmed during the Paris Summit," said Ademi.
Desir stressed the importance of the Agreement of July 20, as well as the fulfilment of the other commitments of the Przhino Agreement in the area of media and judiciary in order to evaluate the country appropriately on the December European Council.
Regarding migration, they agreed that coordinated approach and coordination between the countries of the region and the EU is needed in order to reduce the illegal migration. During his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Ademi will have a meeting with the president of the Commission for European Affairs in the Senate, and he will address at the Commission for European Affairs in the National Assembly of France.
