The Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov met today with the Head of the OSCE Mission to North Macedonia, Ambassador Clemens Koja, to discuss a number of important issues, such as: the current reform agenda in the context of the Europeanisation process and existing challenges, the upcoming local elections, the status of the digitalisation project, the census process etc.
Deputy Prime Minister Dimitrov emphasised the role of the OSCE Mission in the promotion of democracy and strengthening the rule of law, especially with the observation of the election process and court proceedings as a mechanism that significantly contributes to increasing transparency and public confidence.
Dimitrov said: "The Europeanisation of our society means implementing an appropriate legal and institutional framework in key areas, but even more important is their implementation in practice, and in that sense, the OSCE Mission is our important partner."
The interlocutors exchanged views on the realisation of the programme goals and activities of the OSCE Mission to North Macedonia in the forthcoming period, with special emphasis on areas that considered as priority goals in the "Agenda: Europe at Home". Ambassador Koja stressed the importance of making continuous progress in the reform process.
