OSMANI: WE MADE IT, MACEDONIA IRRETRIVABLY MOVES TOWARD FULL MEMBERSHIP IN THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THERE IS NO WAY BACK

Negotiations, Johannes Hahn joined the representatives of the Republic of
Macedonia and the European Commission on the second day of the working meeting
for the explanatory screening for Macedonia and Albania to prepare the
negotiations for full membership in the European Union.
after the concluding remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of
the Republic of Macedonia and the Chief Political Negotiator and Head of the
Delegation for Negotiations with the European Union, Dr. Bujar Osmani and the
European Commissioner Hahn held a joint press conference.
Prime Minister Osmani thanked EU High Representative for Foreign and Security
Policy Federica Mogherini, the European Commissioner Han and the European
Commission administration, primarily DG NEAR led by Christian Danielsson and
Genoveva de Ruiz Calavera for the perseverance and selfless dedication to help
Macedonia bridge its challenges to EU integration.
emphasised that "he soon expects the Macedonian language to join the
remaining official languages of the Union, and also because the Republic of
Macedonia has been writing history yesterday and today." He noted that the
big government - state delegation is taking part in working meetings with
representatives of the European Commission, where Chapter 23 - Judiciary and
Fundamental Rights as part of the final preparatory stage prior to the start of
the negotiations is reviewed in a precise and detailed manner.
this is the moment we have been waiting for a long time, for which we are
carefully preparing ourselves, and for which, all the former governments, which
represent all the most important political factors in the country. Let me
conclude on the second day of the screening process - we have succeeded.
Macedonia irretrievably moves towards full membership in the European Union and
there is no way back."
Prime Minister Osmani stressed that "this present success is the
implementation of the historical dream of all Albanians from Macedonia."
pointed out that the Republic of Macedonia will maintain the reform impetus,
the implementation of bilateral agreements and the provision of high capacities
for the screening and negotiation process. Finally, he told the representatives
of the European Union that Macedonia will remain committed to the European
values and will make efforts to create a safe, more stable and united Europe, a
Europe that protects.
