The Secretariat for European Affairs (SEA) was established as a separate expert service of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia in 2005 through transformation of the previous Sector for European Integration within the General Secretariat of the Government. The Secretariat establishment was a response to the increased needs arising from the intensified integration process of the Republic of Macedonia in EU, for the purpose of the strategic objective for EU membership of the Republic of Macedonia.
