OSMANI: IN A WEEK THE BUNDESTAG WILL GIVE GREEN LIGHT FOR START OF NEGOTIATIONS WITH NORTH MACEDONIA
his working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, Deputy Prime Minister in
charge of European Affairs, Bujar Osmani had a meeting with the German State
Minister for Europe and representative of the Federal Republic of Germany to
the EU, Michael Roth.
"I come just one week
before the Bundestag session when the support for the European integration of
the Republic of North Macedonia will be on the agenda, to convey the government's
gratitude for your unselfish efforts to provide my country a green light for
the start of negotiations," Osmani stated, expressing his personal
gratitude to Minister Roth for his friendly attitude and his personal
contribution to the success of the European integration of the country.
Osmani informed the Minister
for the latest developments in the country, while expressing his conviction to
Mr. Roth for the persistence and commitment of the Government in removing all
formal and informal remarks that may jeopardize the October decision. "We
have made progress in all the areas noted by the European Council, and we
consistently achieve solid 'track record', successful implementation of the
reforms adopted," Osmani stated.
Osmani received confirmation
from Minister Roth that the German government fully supports the country's
European integration, and that it will stand firm during the Bundestag session
in defence of the government's position for start of negotiations with the
Republic of North Macedonia in October.
Berlin, Osmani travels directly to Warsaw, where he will have meetings with the
Polish State Secretary for European Affairs Konrad Szymanski and with the
Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz. The
visits to Berlin and Warsaw are part of Deputy Prime Minister Osmani's European
tour to visit European capitals ahead of October's EU Council meetings.
