15:00, Friday, March 21, 2014

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia in charge of European Affairs Fatmir Besimi, PHD had a meeting with H.E. Cui Zhiwei - Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, whose terms of office expires in April.

The meeting was held due to the fruitful and friendly cooperation, which both countries have had, and the common aspiration to its extension and deepening. Therefore, as a sign of its confirmation a Memorandum of Cooperation has been exchanged, under which the People’s Republic of China grants funds to the Republic of Macedonia in the amount of 20 million Yuan (EUR 2.5 million).

In the past bilateral and project cooperation that began in 2007, more projects and study visits have been realised between the two countries within the agreements on economic and technical cooperation. By the end of 2013, contracts worth EUR 13.4 million have been signed for the construction of schools, health infrastructure, purchase of school buses etc.
