OSMANI: NORTH MACEDONIA BECOMES MAIN PROMOTER OF THE EUROPEAN VALUES IN THE REGION
Deputy Prime Minister in
charge of European Affairs Bujar Osmani had a meeting with the State Secretary
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Dobran Bozic.
At the meeting they talked
about the challenges North Macedonia faces in the European integration,
especially in the period before the forthcoming June summits, and they also
opened the topics related to EU enlargement to the Western Balkan countries,
which contribute to strengthened stability and security in the Union, as well
as the regional cooperation toward EU integration of the Western Balkan
"Republic of North
Macedonia is the new reality on the Balkans: a country which has no major open
issues, thus having stable inter ethnic relations and internal cohesion, which
is already a part of the regional initiative for promotion of the European
rules, standards and values throughout the whole region, having final goal to
provide lasting stability on the Balkan", stated Osmani, therefore pointing
out that this successful story needs to be a motive and an incentive to the
Western Balkan countries, as aspirants for EU membership.
Beside the meeting with
Bozic, Deputy Prime Minister Osmani had meetings with the Programme Director at
the Centre for European Perspective, Andreja Dolnicar Jeraj, where in addition
to the Euro-Atlantic integrations, they talked on the topics related to dealing
with the migrant crisis, the flood of fundamentalism, and the struggle to deal
with the spread of the false news that the region faces.
Within the visit to the
Republic of Slovenia, Osmani will have a meeting with the Deputy President of
the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and Minister for foreign affairs,
Miro Cerar PhD, and on the margins of the visit he will meet Ema Rode, Deputy
Director of the Centre for International Cooperation and Development.
