14:42, Friday, November 09, 2018

Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs, Bujar Osmani, took part in the opening of the sports hall in the elementary school "Pero Nakov" in Kumanovo.

"Today's promotion of this sports hall symbolizes the real cause and purpose of politics - to create better conditions for all citizens of this country. The fact that with this facility we improve the conditions for the youth is an additional benefit for all of us, and an additional impetus for our work," Osmani emphasised at the beginning of his address.

Further, Osmani pointed out that the building is part of a wider project for the construction of 145 sports halls, financed by the funds provided by a loan from the Council of Europe Development Bank, while the project documentation is made with non-refundable funds from IPA.

"Just as in the school Ismet Jashari in Lipkovo, or Jeronim De Rada in Cherkezi, Kumanovo, it is a great pleasure to attend events promoting the conditions for sports education of the citizens, because this is the best way to provide a successful future of young people here in the country "- Osmani stressed, pointing out that this year, for the third time he attends laying of a cornerstone or the opening of a new educational facility in this region.

"The European Union has made available over 100 million euros a year, non-refundable money, money from taxpayers from the EU member states, which decided to give these funds, instead of their countries, to projects that will transform our society, in order to make it easier for us to reach the standards of their societies," Osmani stressed, adding that with the progress in the European integration process, especially with the preparations for the start of negotiations for membership in the European Union, these funds and these activities will increase significantly, which will enable better conditions for investments and business, economic development and more jobs; funds that will enable better and more accessible health, better and more quality education, and in general, higher quality services of the state.
