15:08, Monday, July 31, 2017

Today, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, in the Villa Vodno, had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov.

At the meeting they opened the current political issues, the cohabitation between the Government and the President of the country, as well as the relations between the political stakeholders and the possibilities for enhancing mutual cooperation.

"Although our party"s commitment remains the principle of ethnic consensus in the election of the next President of the Republic of Macedonia, we are giving hand to achieve unity, consensus and support for the reforms necessary for our European and Euro-Atlantic integrations. Inclusion is important in order to ensure more stable and regular cohabitation between the Government and the President of the Republic of Macedonia, which would provide more efficient and stable functionality of the political system, "Osmani said after the meeting.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Osmani presented the Plan 3-6-9, and informed the President about the course and ways in which the reform measures are implemented. He asked for President Ivanov"s support for the implementation of the measures and reforms from Plan 3-6-9, as well as the achievement of political unity on key political issues, such as the agreement with Bulgaria, but also a new approach to building confidence between Macedonia and Greece. "Amongst other, I have paid particular attention to explain the part of the Plan related to inter-ethnic relations, i.e. the new Draft- law on the use of languages. In addition to the support and the other measures from Plan 3-6-9, I also asked President Ivanov for support of the new law on the use of languages," Osmani added, noting that he expects support for the new law on the use of languages and the opposition VMRO-DPMNE, which would achieve a political and inter-institutional consensus on this important issue.
